Issuance of visas

Issuance of an entry visa for a period of thirty (30) days, for the purpose of visit or tourism.

Application for e-visas for foreigners of all types is made through the e-visa portal (https://visit.gov.krd/ckb).

A visit visa may be extended for a foreigner for thirty (30) days after entry only for two (2) times against a fee, provided that the reason for the extension is approved, upon request by the foreigner himself.

E-visa information After issuance and issuance of the visa will not be changed and in case of any error, the visa will be considered cancelled. A new visa must be requested according to an application, new fees and compliance with all legal procedures New ones are given free of charge.

The foreigner’s passport must have a validity period of not less than six (6) months, with at least one blank passport page.

If the foreigner's passport or travel document indicates that the place of birth is in Iraq, he/she does not need to obtain a visa, and will be allowed free of charge .

In case of non-return of the foreigner on time and failure to complete the residence card issuance procedures, the visa code holder must pay the amount of the penalty specified in the visa code issuance contract for non-compliance, in addition to other legal procedures.

Visitor visas are converted into residence cards for family reunification purposes.

Tourist visas cannot be converted into residence cards without the approval of the Ministry of the Interior.

In the event of a visa refusal, the application may be repeated, after correcting the reasons for the refusal, if the reason is not related to the entry ban.
