Issuance and renewal of residency cards for foreigners working in the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) agencies. This card is valid for six months or one year and can be renewed after that period.

Conditions
Foreigner shall have attained the age of eighteen (18).
Testing for communicable diseases (AIDS, B and C hepatitis, malaria, Bilharzia).
The validity period of the foreigner’s passport shall not be less than six (6) months.
Foreigners from countries that require a pre-visa to enter the Kurdistan Region, their residency card must be requested by the same government agency that issued the visa.
If the transaction is to renew the residency card, the old residency card must be renewed before the expiration date, otherwise he will be subject to a late penalty of (20,000) twenty thousand dinars per day.
Work will be done on the statement No. (1) of 2021 on the issuance of electronic visas and residency cards, and the Foreigners residency Law No. (76) of 2017 of the Iraqi House of Representatives.
Documents
Passport.
A copy of the latest stamp of entry into Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.
Residential support.
Letter of support for the foreigner from the agency where he works.
One (1) photograph of the foreigner.
For renewal transactions, bring your previous residency card and one (1) photograph of the foreigner.

According to Directive No. (1) of 2021, the following guidelines for issuing electronic visas and residency permits in the Kurdistan Region:
For foreigners who do not need to obtain a visa in advance to enter the Kurdistan Region:
- (300,000) three hundred thousand dinars in exchange for conversion of visit visa to residency card.
- (150,000) one hundred and fifty thousand dinars for issuing a residency card.
- (25,000) Twenty-five thousand dinars residency administration fee for applying for residency permit.
For foreigners who need to obtain a visa in advance to enter the Kurdistan Region:
- (1,000,000) One million conversion of visit visa to residency card.
- (150,000) one hundred and fifty thousand dinars for issuing a residency card.
- (25,000) Twenty-five thousand dinars residency administration fee for applying for residency permit.
For residency card renewal:
- (150,000) one hundred and fifty thousand dinars in exchange for renewal of all types.
- (25,000) Twenty-five thousand dinars residency administrative fee for renewal of residency.

Procedures
Government agencies can apply online, if they have an electronic code in the system, or offline through a representative or lawyer visiting the specialized residency department.
Visits the room for issuing residency cards to government agency, in order to submit an application, after verification, all transactions are scanned, the name of the foreigner is sent to the central laboratory online, in order to conduct health test.
After the health test and returning the results electronically after (48) hours, the foreign will visit the specialized residency directorate in the room for issuing residency cards to government agencies after confirming the results of the health test and a receipt will be prepared.
Visits the accounting room, in order to pay the prescribed fees.
Revisits the room for issuing residency cards to government agencies, in order to return the accounting receipt and scanning.
Visits the printing department to print the residency card and complete the transaction.
