Limited Power of Attorney (PoA) for the Kurdish Diaspora

Limited power of attorney (LPoA) is a legal authorization that gives a designated person, termed the agent or attorney-in-fact, limited power to act for another person, known as the principal.

Conditions

The principle must be present in person.

Two copies of the application package.

Presenting documents relevant to the PoA, such as documents related to property registration, vehicle registration or any other documents.

Sharing a copy of the PoA with the KRG's Department of Foreign Relations (DFR).

Taking the original PoA to the DFR to be authenticated by the Legal Affairs.

Iraqi National ID or (Renewed Iraqi Civil Status Card with Iraqi Nationality Certificate) - Original Copies
of the principal.

of the to be attorney-in-fact.

Passport of residency if the attorney-in-fact was a foreign national.

Documents relevant to the PoA, such as documents related to property registration, vehicle registration or any other documents.

The requirements might vary slightly depending on the KRG representation office that processes the PoA. At some representations, the following steps are required:

Providing a copy of the Iraqi or American IDs, for example (National Certificate)

Three copies of the Kurdish language application form. The writings must be clear and visible.

A copy of the English language application form signed by the Notary Public.

Contact information of the principal and attonrney-in-fact.

No fees associated with the service.

Procedures

The requestor must visit the office of the consular services and Kurdish diaspora at the relevant KRG Representation office to request the service.

Then the request will be transferred to the KRG's representative for approval. The requestor shall wait in the waiting area and the representative staff will take the documents to the representative for approval.

If this request is initiated from the KRG representation website, the applicant must first fill out the available online form, print and sign, then mail the form with the required documents to the relevant KRG representation office.
